Architectural Education

Architectural education requires a multidimensional perspective. During her/his education, the candidate architect is fed from many different disciplines that reflect various aspects of the profession, especially in the fields of design. These disciplines include fields such as engineering, fine arts, humanities, administrative sciences, and law.

The ultimate goal of architectural education is the title of 'Architect', which is obtained by the realization of the 'Diploma Project' in the eighth semester of education, as well as the completion of internship obligations and other courses.

In our country, individuals with the title of 'Architect' are entitled to practice the profession of architecture and to be project owner of architectural projects.

With the achievement of the 'Diploma Project', the candidate architect proves her/his individual competence to design. Before the 'Diploma Project', the candidate is equipped with various knowledge during her/his architectural education. This information can be listed as follows:

  1. Design Group: Courses including Basic Design, Architectural Project, Urbanism, Architectural Design Theories, and Design Communication Techniques,
  2. Building Group: Courses including Static, Reinforced Concrete, Building Elements, Building Material, Physical Environmental Control, and relevant technology knowledge,
  3. History and Conservation Group: Courses including History of Architecture, Design Applications, Restoration, and related field studies,
  4. Administrative Sciences Group: Construction Management and Economics, Construction Site Management, Business and Zoning Law Courses,
  5. Elective courses for specialization in architecture,
  6. Common courses (Mathematics, Turkish, Foreign Language, Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution)
  7. Mandatory Professional Practice (Internship)

It is aimed that architect candidates are raised with a sense of responsibility towards society and the environment to the extent that the profession of architecture is required and defined.
